There is a lot of “news.” If you are having a hard time figure out if it’s real or make-believe, spend some time without news. Then come back and see if you still think it’s important. This is based on the principle that really important things will always gain traction, while less important things fade away.
This principle works in many facets of life. If you can’t figure out somebody’s angle, give it time. If you think you’re being taken, just pause, and let it ride. If it’s too good to be true, it is.
