Most people just want to be left alone. Let them work towards their own perceived self-interest, find their own employment, etc. These are commonly called conservatives. They care deeply about their own well-being and understand well-being is very dependent on a healthy society.
If asked, these people will say things like “if you don’t work, you don’t eat” and other such principles. Where this comes into play today, is that another group of people says that looking after your own self-interest is intolerant. This is the gap between individuals and NPCs: conservatives believe in the capacity for humans to direct their own lives while socialists believe that the collective must replace the individual.
The principle is, free speech isn’t free. Everyday is a battle against evil to practice and instill principles.
